Break to Open

Break to Open poem over photo of beach with rocks
It’s a slow piercing
That trembles in my heart
This shaking shudder
Breaks the pieces apart

It’s caught up inside
This decaying rubble
My heart is bowing down
Yielding to this trouble

I’ll splay my arms wide
To crack it right open
I’ll purge it all out
To allow the hope in
