Still Life

Still Life poem over photo of still life with fossils, stones, and victorian glass domed butterfly
Take that moment, in between the breaths
And frame that temporal stillness
That would have otherwise chased itself
Across the inertia heaving in each heart

There is a holding in that moment
That binds the tumult of atomic oscillations
Opening to a vacuous spaciousness
Receptive to be filled by truths yet unmet

A gentle pause to harken
To all that is unsaid
Unknown
Unrealized
calmsolitudestillness
